A fully electric mobile shredder JENZ

With its first fully electric mobile JENZ shredder, the company is responding to the growing demand for forward-looking alternative drive concepts. “We have previously gained experience in electronic drive technology primarily with stationary machines,” explains Hans Heinrich Hermeier, managing partner of the family-owned company and Head of Product Management. “In recent months, however, we have increasingly received inquiries regarding mobile electric solutions. The BA 926 E Mobil is our answer to future-oriented, sustainable operations and elevates our shredder technology to a new level of innovation.” The BA 926 E Mobil combines the performance of the proven BA 926 diesel variant with the advantages of an electric drive system. Thanks to innovative drive technology, the machine operates fully electrically while combining high performance with maximum efficiency.

A powerful 315 kW electric motor ensures reliable operation, while peak power of up to 500 kW easily handles demanding operating conditions. The short-term torque reserve of 4,000 Nm provides additional power exactly when needed. The integrated soft-start control system ensures especially smooth and flexible operation. It reduces high inrush currents and also facilitates operation in combination with generators. The well-designed “Plug & Shred” concept enables simple and safe power connection on both sides of the system, ensuring quick deployment on site. Up to 50 meters of robust connection cable provide additional flexibility in day-to-day operations.

Another advantage of the BA 926 E Mobil lies in the significant cost savings and substantially reduced emissions compared to diesel-powered solutions. At the same time, the electric drive considerably reduces maintenance requirements, as robust electrical components ensure high reliability. The proven easy2 control system also guarantees particularly efficient and user-friendly operation. For maintenance work, all hydraulic functions can conveniently be operated via a 16 A CEE plug; an integrated air compressor additionally supports cleaning and servicing. The performance and weight of the BA 926 E Mobil are comparable to the diesel-powered BA 926 variant equipped with the OM473 engine. Due to the high proportion of shared components with existing diesel machines, the familiar JENZ service and spare parts structure remains unchanged. Thanks to CoC certification, the machine is road-transport approved and can be equipped with all known options from the BA product range.
